Eostre Hospitality

Hospitality, to us, is not a category of building. It is the particular quality of being expected — a room made ready, a lamp left on, someone who knows your name by the second morning.

We manage two boutique hotels in Mount Abu. They are different in character and share a single standard: rooms that are genuinely clean, service that is genuinely warm, and a price that never asks you to pretend it was worth it.

The Eostre way

Small houses, kept properly

Both of our houses are family-run, which means the person who checks you in is likely to be the person who notices your child fell asleep in the lobby, and finds a blanket.

We do not have a spa, a golf course, or a lobby pianist. We have hot water at four in the morning, linen that smells of nothing at all, and staff who have worked here long enough to have opinions about which room has the better view.

The destination

Mount Abu, after everyone leaves

The town sits at 1,220 metres in the Aravallis, cool when the desert below is not. Come in the evening, when the day-trippers have gone back down the ghat road and the town settles into something quieter.

Experiences

Things worth getting up for

Arranged by the front desk, usually the night before. Ask, and we will make the calls.

Both houses

Sunrise at Guru Shikhar

The highest point in the Aravallis, an hour before the crowds. We send you with flasks of chai and a driver who knows the road in the dark.

The Plum

The Dilwara marble walk

Eleventh-century Jain temples carved so finely the marble turns translucent. Best seen mid-morning, when the light comes through the ceilings.

Jodhpur House

Supper on the terrace

A quiet table above Mali Colony as the hills go gold, then dark. Ghar ka khana, cooked the way the family eats it.
